ANIAS MITCHELL & CHRIS PURKEA
Thursday, February 9
This is the next generation of
female singer/songwriters, and they're both really good. Anias is a
Vermonter, reminds us a bit of the early Dar Williams, and will be at Roots
on the River's NEW FACES night this June. Chris hails from Northampton and,
to these ears at least, is reminiscent of a young Ferron. Catch 'em now -
this is a most excellent bill. $10 advance.
THE DRUNK STUNTMEN
Friday, February 10
Sweet Home Northampton! The Drunk Stuntmen were
founded around a moonshine still in the back woods of Western Massachusetts
at a time when honest music was being mugged and beaten to death in a dark
alley somewhere in the bowels of corporate America. They made their BF debut
at the Œ04 Fred Weekend, where they tore the roof of the place wth their
fearsome rootsy brew of southern rock and dark country. Then they packed out
the Windham early and late in 05.... Get ready for a hot time in the Falls
of Bellow tonight! $12 advance

Broadway! The perfect post-Valentines date! 2 shows - 7:30 and 9:15. Advance

Dr. Babosa happy is to hear of latest creative-economy-type collaboration
between police and peoples of town! Warhol of Pittsburgh and interminable
movies have nothing on Falls of Bellow! Laugh we at 14 hour film! Have us
possibly film 24/7 of such things as people buying shovels of snow or pourri
of pot. Oh, wait! Pourri of pot possibly very much of interest to at least
one party in such creative collaboration! As Pole of Wal hurls itself from
bastion of PBS filmmaking into malls of strip building place, Falls of
Bellow achieve film primacy! Welcome world, brave and new!
